√Welcome to the home of For My Brothers with Daughters, Non-Profit Organization!
Our purpose is to motivate fathers and father-figures, alike, to be more intentional and present in their daughter’s lives. We intend to create a safe, fun and productive atmosphere to strengthen the bond with our girls!
We are a non-profit organization committed to intensifying the relationship between fathers and daughters. In an ideal world, every child would have two enthusiastic parents in their home. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Quite often, life and schedules get in the way of our relationships and suffering ensues. It is imperative that we create time for those who we consider to be the most essential extension of our being.
You may be asking yourself: “Why just Fathers and Daughters?” We don’t intend to alienate Mothers. Nor do we want our message to be misconstrued into the thinking that our sons are less important. However, there’s a major void in resources and support for Fathers who are raising daughters. “Recent research has shown that a father’s influence in his daughter’s life shapes her self-esteem, self-image, confidence and opinions of men. A girl’s relationship with her dad can determine her ability to trust, her need for approval and her self-belief” (TheGloss.com) Research also shows that teen pregnancy rates, suicide and drug use is reduced while test scores and graduation rates increase with an active father.
Furthermore, many fathers may find it difficult to cultivate a relationship with their daughter(s). A structured environment with focus-driven activities is sure to guide and nurture the relationship. Our goal is to, not only, provide a safe learning, open and judgement free zone, but also an opportunity to sustain and strengthen Mother and Father relationships. We aim to make good men, great men; and great men, even better husbands and fathers.
